زكية حمدان مطربة سورية من حلب، من عمالقة الطرب العربي الأصيل. تُعد من الأصوات النسائية الرائدة التي ساهمت في تشكيل ملامح الغناء الكلاسيكي في منتصف القرن العشرين. تنتمي لأسرة من الوسط الفني، وتتلمذت على يد الفنان عمر البطش وعلي الدرويش، اللذَين علّماها أصول غناء الموشحات والقصائد والقدود. Zakia Hamdan is a Syrian singer from Aleppo, one of the giants of authentic Arab tarab. She is considered one of the pioneering female voices that helped shape the features of classical singing in the mid-twentieth century. She studied under artists Omar Al-Batsh and Ali Al-Darwish, who taught her the fundamentals of singing Muwashshahat, poems and Qudud.

مع الوقت بدأت تتعلم وتتقن العزف على العود، وأطلق عليها لقب «أم كلثوم الشام» — إلا أنها لم تكن تُقلّد كوكب الشرق في الغناء، إنما كانت تُضفي إحساسها الخاص في الأداء، موظّفةً قدراتها في التشكيل والتعبير في الغناء. Over time she learned and mastered playing the oud, and was given the title "Oum Kalthoum of the Levant" — yet she did not imitate the Star of the East in her singing, but rather imparted her own feeling in performance, employing her abilities in shaping and expression.

من أشهر ما غنّت قصيدة «سليمى»، وهي من ألحان الملحن اللبناني محمد فليفل، وتُعتبر من أجمل ما قدّمته في مسيرتها الفنية العريقة. Among her most famous performances is the poem "Salma," composed by Lebanese composer Mohamed Fleifil, considered one of the most beautiful pieces she presented in her distinguished artistic career.
